5. What does “holistic counselling” mean?
Holistic counselling sees you as a whole person, connecting mind, body, and wellbeing. With my unique background in both physical and mental health, I help integrate wellness into all aspects of your life—if and when you choose.
Logistics & Practicals
6. How long is a session, and how much does it cost?
Sessions are $99NZD for 50 minutes for the pay now option. (No GST - I cover that for you)
Sessions are $120NZD for 50 minutes for the pay later option. (No GST - I cover that for you)
They are both the same as far as the type of session, I just offer a discount for those who would like to pay as they book. More info is on the Services and Pricing page (or contact me directly for details). I offer secure payment via bank transfer or invoice.
Note: Checking other therapists/counsellors, you'll find that the medium amount charged for a therapy/counselling session in Auckland is $150-200+ NZD for session with a counsellor with my experience. I hope to reach those who are unable to pay this. Moreover, I can keep costs down because I operate independently.
7. What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee (up to the full session cost).
8. Are notes and records kept private and secure?
Yes—your records are stored securely and handled in line with New Zealand privacy standards (following NZAC guidelines). Full confidentiality applies, except when required by law or in cases of risk to yourself or others.
First Session & What to Expect
9. What happens during the first session?
The first session is largely a chat to get to know each other. You’ll complete an intake form, and I’ll explain what to expect from therapy. We’ll also discuss your goals and how to work best together.
10. How many sessions will I need?
Every person’s journey is unique. While some benefit from a few focused sessions (especially with solution-focused techniques), others may benefit from longer-term work. We’ll collaborate on a plan that feels right for you.
Inclusivity & Values
11. Is this a safe space for LGBTQIA+ clients?
Absolutely. My practice is fully inclusive, affirming, and welcoming to clients of all gender identities, sexual orientations, cultures, and backgrounds.
12. I’m an expat—how can therapy help me?
Expats often face unique challenges like identity shifts, belonging, and adjustment. As someone who’s navigated the expat journey personally, I offer a grounded, empathetic space to explore these transitions and build resilience.
